2021 EUA-CDE survey on current developments in doctoral education

In March 2021, the EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE) launched a survey on current developments in doctoral education.

With this survey, EUA-CDE complements the large-scale EUA-CDE survey on “Doctoral education in Europe today: approaches and institutional structures” (2017-2018).

The objectives of this follow-up survey are to gather perspectives for a comprehensive overview on important developments and strategic priorities in the area of doctoral education, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, and to examine how European universities are currently supporting postdoctoral researchers. The survey will provide insights into key thematic areas in doctoral education with which European universities are currently engaging. The outcome of the survey will contribute to future activities and priorities of EUA-CDE.

The questionnaire is now closed. First results will be presented during the 2021 EUA-CDE Annual Meeting. The resulting report will be published by the end of the year.
